Madurai Method (MM): A novel and cost effective technique for confirmation of Placement of Supraglottic Airway devices

Abstract:
Supraglottic devices has various applications in the field of anaesthesia from day care surgeries to tackling difficult airway situations. Fibreoptic Bronchoscopy is the gold standard method for confirming the correct placement of Supraglottic airway devices. Since Fibreoptic bronchoscopy is not affordable and available in all settings, we describe an alternate and cost effective novel method of using Wired endoscopic camera which provides real time airway visualisation for confirmation of placement of Supraglottic device (Madurai Method).
